Although arthritis is of many types, the most common are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Apart from this, infections and metabolic arthritis are also found in large amounts.
Osteo-arthritis: This disease usually occurs after 50 years. However, due to poor lifestyle, nowadays it has started happening to the youth too. This usually affects the knees. Apart from this, there are problems in fingers and hips, but the most common knee problem in India.
Rheumatoid arthritis: It is an autoimmune disease (the body starts working against itself). If there is a family history, then it is most likely to happen. There may be pain and stiffness anywhere in elbows, wrists, fingers, shoulders, ankles, small toes, etc. Pain occurs on both sides of the body i.e. both feet, ankles, wrists, etc. It increases the difficulty in winter.
